Dear blokart sailor,
Please find below a notice of race for both events, accommodation in Christchurch and things to do and see between Nelson and Christchurch. Nelson accommodation information is contained in the SIO NOR.
To generate interest in these events a “registrations of interest” list has already been started and can be accessed via the Canterbury Blokart Club web site. Please peruse it using the following link and add your name, instructions on the web site page. Note that it does not commit you to enter either event, it’s there to let others know who will probably be entering, generate enthusiasm and promote the event to a wide range of sailors.Check out the registration of interest list here.
NZBAI are keen to generate more competitive interest from sailors who sail Production and you will see there are already a number of interested Production registrations. If you sail Production, please consider entering one or both events, the more entries received the better the competition. Cruiser class is also included and this really compliments Performance and Production by offering classes to suit every blokart sailor in New Zealand.
At this stage organisation of both events is on track and generating good interest, it’s now up to you, a blokart sailor from the North Island, to commit to participating in either one or both events. Already sailors from Australia have indicated they will be entering and this is a huge boost for the organisers.
For those who have never sailed at either venue, the Nelson Vortex track is triangular, grit surfaced and lends itself to a variety of configurations, Wigram consists of a large sealed apron with buildings on two sides and a long taxiway joined at right angles to one end of the apron. The taxiway is wide enough to tack across and gybe on. Depending on wind conditions I would say that both venues will allow technical courses requiring skill to be laid out.
Accommodation in Christchurch is tight, all the motels listed have accommodation available but don’t delay, book now. Note that there are plenty more motels available in Christchurch, traffic conditions can be high and the motels listed are close to Wigram.
Use the link below to register your interest, complete an on line entry form for both events, study a list of those interested in competing and later on, see who has entered.
